InBody Analyzer
Why collecting data is important:
There’s a reason why doctors perform lab tests, or why your mechanic runs diagnostic tests for an unknown car issue… you have to collect data to see what is going on, in order to move forward mindfully and effectively with the proper steps in between. If you have a goal of where you want to go, it is way easier when you know where you’re starting from to tweak your trajectory to get the exact goals you desire. This concept absolutely applies to the Inbody Analyzer; if you have health goals to decrease inflammation, lose body fat, gain muscle, whatever it is… the InBody Analyzer can show you all of that information.
InBody Analyzer: What is it?¹
The InBody Analyzer uses safe, low-level electrical currents that run through hand and foot electrodes to measure body composition which gives us a lot more information that just measuring your weight, or even measuring your BMI using your height, weight and age. The more information you have, the better. The simple difference between weight and body composition is that weight is a measure of muscle, fat, and bones in the body, but body composition gives you the percentage of each which gives us much more information. For example, if you want to lose weight, if you just think you need to lose fat and start doing exercises to burn fat and don’t pay attention to muscle, you may not hit your goal and this may not be the best exercise for your body. If you look at body composition instead you will know exactly how much fat and fat, and if it shows you’re lacking muscle but your body fat is low, then you simply target the workouts at building more muscle. Again, the more information you have for a big picture view, the better.

My personal experience:
Using the InBody Analyzer has always been an eye opening experience for me- I have used it the first time I ever went to optimyze, before starting a lifting program, after completing my medical boards exam… all with the intention of seeing how my body has changed, what my current goals are, and how to tweak my nutrition, workout routine, self care routine and nutrition to fit my goals. It saves me an enormous amount of time and energy. In a way its like sharpening the sword for my health goals.
