Navy Veteran Michael Roviello Featured in AmVets Magazine
Written By Michael Roviello
We’re honored to share that Optimyze co-founder Michael Roviello was recently profiled in AmVets Magazine.
The feature highlights Michael’s inspiring journey from Navy helicopter search and rescue swimmer to wellness entrepreneur. It also explores how his personal path to healing now fuels Optimyze’s mission to help others thrive.

A Life Shaped by Service and Resilience
During his years of military service, Michael learned what it truly meant to push beyond limits, work as a team, and stay calm in the face of adversity. Those lessons became the foundation for his leadership style and his approach to building Optimyze.
“I wasn’t looking for comfort — I was looking for growth and new experiences,” Michael shared in the interview. That mindset has guided every step of his transition from military service to creating a sanctuary for healing here in Arizona.
.
Turning Pain Into Purpose
After undergoing spinal surgery and struggling with chronic pain and prescription medications, Michael began searching for a different path. He turned to cold plunging, breathwork, meditation, and sauna therapy. These modalities not only relieved his pain but helped him reconnect to a sense of inner strength and peace.
What started as personal experimentation soon transformed into a calling. Michael saw firsthand how these tools could change lives, especially for veterans and first responders who often carry invisible wounds long after leaving the battlefield.

The Birth of Optimyze
In 2018, Michael partnered with Jesse Moreng to open the first Optimyze location. Their vision was clear: to combine science-backed therapies such as cold water therapy and red light therapy with ancient healing practices that help people regulate stress, recover from trauma, and restore balance in mind and body.
Today, Optimyze has four wellness centers in the Valley: Arcadia, Tempe, Scottsdale, and North Phoenix, and is expanding through franchising to bring this model of healing to more communities nationwide.
.
Veterans at the Heart of the Mission
Michael’s feature in AmVets Magazine underscores what has always been central to Optimyze: a commitment to serving veterans and first responders. Optimyze is a place where those who have given so much can find recovery, connection, and community.
As Michael put it, “Veterans are trained to fight but rarely taught how to heal. Optimyze gives them the tools to come back home to themselves: physically, mentally, and spiritually.”

Building Community, Creating Connection
Healing at Optimyze goes beyond physical recovery. From group breath work sessions to men’s and women’s circles, every offering is designed to create connection with self and with others. It’s not just about building stronger bodies, but about building brotherhood and community.
Michael’s journey is a reminder that transformation often comes from our greatest challenges. At Optimyze, we carry that same belief into every service we provide. From cold water therapy and sauna therapy to red light and breathwork.
Whether you’re a veteran, first responder, or simply someone seeking a better path to wellness, we invite you to experience the Optimyze difference.
